YEAR-END SPENDING UPDATE

One of our regular encouragements to Frontier Families is to create an education plan for their student(s) as completely and as early in the school year as possible. This helps assure that all the curriculum and education services are in place early and available when needed. In addition, creating a complete plan early makes creating final requisitions and reimbursement requests much easier when the final turn-in date comes around at the end of March.

When we originally set March 30, 2018 as the final turn-in date for SY 17/18 requisitions and reimbursements, we did not know that the PEAKS testing would begin March 26.

Since PEAKS testing takes place during the same week that final requisitions and reimbursement requests are due, we have decided to move the final turn in date from March 30 to Friday, April 13.

Frontier Families are still encouraged to get their final requisitions and reimbursement requests entered into SALTT by March 30 even though SALTT will remain open for use through 4 PM Friday, April 13, 2018.

If you still have funds available in your student’s Frontier account and plan to use some or all of those funds for SY 17/18, your requisition(s) or reimbursement request(s) for academic goods and/or services must be entered into SALTT by 4 PM Friday, April 13, 2018.

Original receipts for reimbursement must be delivered to the Anchorage or Eagle River office not later than 4 PM Friday, April 13, 2018. Please remember to attach the receipts to a copy of the reimbursement request.

Reimbursement requests and receipts received after April 13 may be returned.

STUDENT ALLOTMENTS ROLL FORWARD

If your student has funds remaining as of April 13 and you plan to

re-enroll at Frontier Charter for SY 18/19, we will roll forward your student’s unused funds for use next year in addition to the regular allocated amount.

Student allotments for SY 18-19 will stay at current levels:

    K-4     $1800

    5-8     $2100

    9-12   $3000

The maximum allowable amount including current year allotment and prior year roll forward funds will be based on grade level:

    K-4     $3600

    5-8     $4200

    9-12   $6000

A FEW REMINDERS:

  • SY 18/19 Purchases: Since we are funded on an annual basis, SY 17/18 funds are not to be used to purchase curriculum or teaching supplies for SY 18/19. Questions? Please call your advisor.

  • Internet Service: If you have a reimbursement request already in place for internet service reimbursement through June 30, your April, May & June original invoices must be submitted at the end of each month. Please do not hold them until end of June. Get them to us as you receive them. This helps us close our business year and meet ASD end of year closing requirements.

  • If you don’t have a reimbursement request for internet service in place and plan to use remaining funds for April, May & June internet reimbursement, please create a reimbursement request in SALTT and get your original invoices to us by the end of each month.

  • Internet invoices for SY 17/18 received after June 30, 2018, will be returned even if a reimbursement request has been created.

  • Receipts: Please remember that all receipts for reimbursement must be original. Don’t have one? Call Scott Grant at 742-1184 or email him at Grant_Scott@asdk12.org

  • Invoices for Instruction Service Paid Direct to Vendor by Parent: If your student is receiving instruction from a local vendor, you pay the vendor directly, and you plan for the lessons to continue into April, May or June, please be sure a reimbursement request is entered into SALTT for the amount of any or all of those months. Submit receipts to the Anchorage or Eagle River offices as you receive them; please do not hold them until the end of June. Receipts submitted after June 30 may be returned. Questions? Call Scott Grant at 742-1184 or email him at Grant_Scott@asdk12.org.

  • Academic Advisor Approval: Please remember that all requisitions and reimbursement requests must have advisor approval before the business office can place orders or process reimbursement. Questions about eligibility or approval? Please contact your advisor.

Speak with your academic advisor or principal if you have questions. Detailed information about our business processes is located at our webpage http://www.frontiercs.org/business/.
