NEW ENROLLMENT FOR NEXT YEAR:
Families are invited to apply online:
Read how our Business Processes can save you time and energy at Frontier Charter School.
Frontier has earned full accreditation, through the AdvancEd Accreditation Commission, as a quality institution for learning.
Frontier meets the five AdvancED Standards for Quality and engages in a process of continuous innovation and improvement.
Graduates earn a High School Diploma from the Anchorage School District.
One of our regular encouragements to Frontier Families is to create an education plan for their student(s) as completely and as early in the school year as possible. This helps assure that all the curriculum and education services are in place early and available when needed. In addition, creating a complete plan early makes creating final requisitions and reimbursement requests much easier when the final turn-in date comes around at the end of March.
When we originally set March 30, 2018 as the final turn-in date for SY 17/18 requisitions and reimbursements, we did not know that the PEAKS testing would begin March 26.
Since PEAKS testing takes place during the same week that final requisitions and reimbursement requests are due, we have decided to move the final turn in date from March 30 to Friday, April 13.
Frontier Families are still encouraged to get their final requisitions and reimbursement requests entered into SALTT by March 30 even though SALTT will remain open for use through 4 PM Friday, April 13, 2018.
If you still have funds available in your student’s Frontier account and plan to use some or all of those funds for SY 17/18, your requisition(s) or reimbursement request(s) for academic goods and/or services must be entered into SALTT by 4 PM Friday, April 13, 2018.
Original receipts for reimbursement must be delivered to the Anchorage or Eagle River office not later than 4 PM Friday, April 13, 2018. Please remember to attach the receipts to a copy of the reimbursement request.
Reimbursement requests and receipts received after April 13 may be returned.
STUDENT ALLOTMENTS ROLL FORWARD
If your student has funds remaining as of April 13 and you plan to
re-enroll at Frontier Charter for SY 18/19, we will roll forward your student’s unused funds for use next year in addition to the regular allocated amount.
Student allotments for SY 18-19 will stay at current levels:
The maximum allowable amount including current year allotment and prior year roll forward funds will be based on grade level:
A FEW REMINDERS:
Speak with your academic advisor or principal if you have questions. Detailed information about our business processes is located at our webpage http://www.frontiercs.org/business/.
STATE TESTING BEGINS MARCH 26
Each spring, Alaska schools give the statewide assessment to students in grades 3-10. This test provides students the opportunity to show their understanding of important skills in English language arts, mathematics, and science at their grade level. PEAKS, which stands for Performance Evaluation for Alaska's Schools, will begin for some students on March 26.
Visit ASD's PEAKS website for more information about the testing schedule and tips to help your child do well on the test.
Parents should talk to their academic advisor or principal if they have questions about PEAKS and the days within the window that their child will be testing.
